Big Changes

If this is your first time to come to the PTAD website, welcome!  If you've been here before, I introduce you to The Change!  Because of browser compatibility issues, I was forced to rethink the layout and design of the site.  No worries, I love the new look.  The old site was slow and had too much going on.  We don't all have brand new computers that work quickly.  I got rid of the music widget, which nobody ever listened to anyways, and also got rid of the falling pennies.  I actually really liked those pennies, but I'm pretty sure that they were the problem that Internet Explorer couldn't deal with.  Oh well.  The new clouds background is also a fresher look and really makes me feel like I'm in a dream cloud.  I will try to keep the site as nice looking and clean as possible so that everyone has the opportunity to enjoy PTAD and the fun race (or races, if this one is a success).

Blog Display Issues

While showing a co-worker my blog site, I noticed that the Header and Links were all messed up or missing.  We were using Internet Explorer.  To create this blog, I used Firefox, by far the most superior browser out right now.  I've been a Firefox fan for years.  And this is definitely one of the reasons.  It displays web pages the way they are meant to be displayed.  I know a little bit about HTML and CSS, but unfortunately, I don't really have the time to try and figure out this issue any time soon.  I really suggest getting Firefox, not just to see this blog properly, but to do yourself a favor.  You'll like it so much more.  Plus, the add-ons available for Firefox are amazing.  Sorry, again, if you are using a browser that makes this blog look horrible or messed up, but it's your own fault.  lol  Just kidding.  It's more MS's fault than yours, but it's still your choice of browser that you use.

2 Trades in 1 Day!!!

2 trades happened in one day.  What a good day!  The Talking Pen traded up and The 2010 Penny went for something awesome!  Follow the links at the top to find out about each of the new trade items.  Traders involved in the next trades for any of the above items will still be involved in the Incentives To Trade program.  Follow the link at the top to find out what the Incentives To Trade program is all about.  Remember, the better the items offered for trade, the quicker the items will be valuable enough to make the traders (and myself) some money.
Keep checking back, or follow this blog, to find out about future items and new posts.  You can also find Pennies To A Dream on Facebook and become a fan/friend.  Let's Trade, Winnipeg!  Let's Trade!

Trading Has Started

It took a long time to get a couple of trades under my belt, but this past weekend was eventful and the outlook is very promising.  My wife, daughter, and I made our way out to Starbuck, MB on Saturday to meet with Alicia, who was the first to offer up a trade for "My Penny (1978)".  At first, the offer was a new pair of baby boy's shoes size 2, but through careful decision making, I was a little hesitant to trade for clothing...of any kind.  We discussed it for a while through emails sent during the week and came up with a solution offer.

Luck?

It was the first night that my wife and I have had alone for quite sometime, so what did we decide to do?  The only thing to do on a rainy Friday night...head to the casino.  I thought that it would be a good idea to see if my penny could "actually" bring me a little luck.  I've gotta say that I'm not at all disappointed with the way the evening turned out.  When we got there, we walked around for a while, just to compare it to the other casino in The 'Peg that we usually prefer to go to.  I was in no way discouraged by the difference.  There's machines to play and money to be made.  It really doesn't matter about the atmosphere of the room to make money.  While walking around,

Rough Start

The race has begun, but none of the pennies have left the starting gate....yet. All 3 pennies have been posted on Kijiji, usedwinnipeg, Facebook Marketplace, and Winnipeg's Craigslist. Unfortunately, the Kijiji links will be down for 24 hours and the Craiglist posting hasn't appeared yet! That's not a lucky start, but I still have faith in these pennies to break the gate soon. Through my own personal use, I have a feeling that

The race is on!

The Big Plan

Okay...here I go. Over the last few years, I had heard, periodically, about a guy in Canada that did something amazing. Kyle MacDonald. Although his name might not seem familiar to you, what he accomplished will. One red paperclip. That's how it all started. "Between Jobs", but with a great memory of his childhood, he came to the decision to try something fun. Something that he had tried when he was younger, but luckily for him, the internet is a lot more popular now than it was when he was a kid.
"Bigger or Better"! A game anybody can play.

Update

I've spent the last little while trying to perfect the blog and also added a Facebook Fan Page. It's been a very long time since I've tried out using HTML. There seems to be so much to learn just to build a decent blog these days and I don't feel anywhere near done. Unfortunately, while teaching myself HTML (and still trying out CSS), I've completely neglected to write anything new for those of you that might have actually stumbled upon this little venture or accepted any of my invites. I'm really sorry I haven't updated until now, but if this works, it could be a lot of fun for everyone involved, while remaining enjoyable, and hopefully, inspiring to those who are just viewing. I know it's hard to tell tone of speech through text, but if you could hear my text you might be able to guess that
